Rumors...

Back at the volunteer house, and the word on the street is that I will most likely be heading up to Ouro Sogui (which is right outside of Matam) sometime within the next week or so. I don't want to get my hopes up (this still needs to be approved), but I'm really excited if this is the case. Ouro Sogui is a sleepy little town right by the Senegal/Mauritania border, so it is super-duper hot there - needless to say I'm quite excited to be going during the coldest months possible! I'll most likely be working there until Christmas time, at which point I will most likely be moving to Tambacounda (also known as Tamba), a larger city that is about 10 hours south-west. It would be amazing if this does work out, though I will really be in the boonies - below is a photo that I took in Linguere - imagine what it might be like in a place 9 hours into the desert from here, when it's not the rainy season. Crispy!

I'll be sending mail your way as soon as you have a solid mailing address. I'd hate to send something and then have you never get it... It really would defeat the purpose.

We're glad things seem to be working out and our anxiety levels went down considerably. Please keep us posted.
